Lol nvm, sorry to over-post.

For those of you feeling incompetent right now, my own stupidity ought to help you to feel better; I put the fuse in in the dark, and slipped it into slot #29 (which isn't used for anything). Thank you clarks-garage, and thank you rhett for recommending I check my fuses!

Hey guys, sorry to bring up an old thread again, but my side mirror thing just became an actual problem.

I put back together the center console (plugging wire group #3 into the door mirror selector switch), tied up the wire group that came apart so that it wouldn't ground itself again, and then replaced the fuse (#28, 25A not 7.5) because it did look a bit jank.

Now, my mirror motors still don't work, and I've lost my reverse lights (they share a fuse, I think). Confused! Anyone have some ideas? I hate backing up without backup lights. People don't pay attention when they're driving, it's kind of only a matter of time...

What year is your 944? I will send you a copy of the wiring diagram.

Oh, don't expend the effort; it would be lost on me. Someday I'll learn to read wiring diagrams. But I've actually got the Haynes manual, anyway.

Forgot to mention; after moving the fuse, my mirrors do indeed work again. :D

Hi Brozoar...glad to help. I checked the rating of fuse 28 and in one part of the diagram they state 7.5A but then in two other places show it at 25A..Porsche engineers eh?

Looking at what it drives I think 25 is right, and yes the reversing lights and mirrors do seem to share it.

One of the reasons I got the little engine compartment light working again was so I didnt have to change fuses and relays in the dark, if you have one fitted you might want to look into that...

Take care..
