Shift indicator arrow!
 
I have a 1987 944 NA and would like to stop the shift indicator arrow from flashing at me before each shift, how do you do this? Remove the bulb? Thanks to all who responded to my whirring sound, I will check into the options of repair. Who has the Porsche factory manuals online, as in free?

Removing the bulb is the only practical option. You have to pull the instrument panel to remove it.
