84' brakes.??

I am changing the brakes on my 944, first time I ever do this. So I'm removing the rotors and I noticed that it also has drum brakes along with the disk brakes. WOA!!! None of that on my Honda. Is the drum brake just for the parking brake or is it like other cars that it is actually actuated when depressing on the brakes. If so, I have both the drum brakes and disk brakes working at the same time???

Thanks guys!! Also, just curious... I've been trying to search for a Big Red upgrade for my car... Does anyone know if they offer. I've only seen them for the 951.

I believe you can get a "big reds", but you have to upgrade to 951 spindles first. Not sure what all needs to be done to do that though.
