factory manules on cd for 20$$

i found some one selling factory manules for 944 on a cd for 20$$. is it a good buy?? here is the info
This CDROM contains a total of 7 files, one for each volume in the complete Porsche Factory Service Manual set for the 924S, 944, 944S, 944 turbo (951) and 944S2. The contents include: Engine Engine - 16 valve Transmission Chassis, ventilation, airconditioning, interior, lighting Electrical and Wiring - pre 1988 Electrical and Wiring - remainder Turbo The files are in "PDF" format and can be read by the Acrobat Reader which is included on the CDROM for those of you that might not already have it. If you have been looking for complete information on maintaining, diagnosing or repairing your beloved "P-car" then you need look no further. This CD has it all! |

Ask around here, there are a few people that will give them to you for free.....
Just as a word of caution. The service manual will not make you a mechanic. They are valuable for some of the model specific procedures, but they assume that you already have the basic mechanical skills to fix a car. If you have a broadband connection and there are a few more interested people, I will put the server back up again.... AFJuvat |

 Great job there Geoff
I d/l the manual too also only got a 924/1982. I thought there might be some usefull tips in there. Has anybody got the 924 manual's for d/l ??? Thanks in advance Frankydoom/London/UK |

I bought the CD and it has proven invaluable (almost as valuable as this site ,;)). It is especially helpful for S owners since the Haynes manual is virtually worthless for that model. I keep a burned copy in the glove compartment, and carry my laptop when I travel far. That’s helped me get out of one jam.
Keep in mind that someone has scanned the entire 7 volume set, and while the quality is good, it does have a few glitches (very minor). I imagine the print quality of the original pictures are somewhat better too. However, for $20 bucks--you can't beat it. |

well i fix my problem. ( one of the network cables were going bad causeing alot of nosie) then i started pulling 1530-1760. thanx for the files. c-ya

 ** WARNING: **
The CD-Rom copies of the factory manual are: 1. Not available to the public from Porsche AG. 2. IF they are not the original copies, they are illegal bootlegs. Either way, discussion of how to obtain these CD-ROMS is not allowed here, since it is illegal and can cause problems for Pelican Parts. As much as I encourage the exchange of ideas, and often ask for assistance with technical problems, we have to keep it legal, for the sake of Pelican. Please refrain from posting information on how to obtain, distribute...etc. such material. This thread is now closed. Hope you guys understand. -Zoltan. |
