Clicking/buzzing with flasher relay in

This started happening about a week ago....when the ignition to my '83 944 is off the flasher relay vibrates and makes a really loud clicking/buzzing noise. When I turn the ignition on (whether the engine is running or not doesn't matter) the vibration stops. When i pull the relay out the vibration/noise stops completey. Everything in the car (blinkers/hazard lights, etc) still works fine. I have tried 3 different relays now (two new ones from pelican parts and the original) and they all do the exact same thing. Does anyone know what this could be?

No one has any suggestions? The relay was fine for the first 18 months I owned the car.
