S2 starts with dme jumper but not with DME relay

So I'm sort of stumped here.

I purchased 3 new DME's from Pelican and I just tried each one in the fuse box and none of them will start the car. It turns over but it won't start. I put the jumper wires in and no problem the car starts. I guess it could be possible that all the relays are not working but I think it's highly unlikely.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue as to why this is happening? .

The jumper bypasses the alarm and airbag and allows the car to start. You may have an issue there and need to jumper one one both of them out...easy to do.

Good points guys. I actually disconnected the alarm harness from the alarm module so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. However, the ignition switch has been acting up as well causing the lights (interior and headlights) to not function, in which case I'd turn the key back a little and all is fine.

I'll check the alarm first since it's the fastest.

If none of this works, make up jumpers for all the pins on the DME relay and plug them in. Sometimes the receptacle wears out and one or more of the pins won't make contact. I had to repair my fuse box by tearing it apart. Is was a mess of loose copper straps and nearly impossible to reassemble. I was successful and wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

If you don't need all those new DME relays, I would buy a spare off you.
