My gauges quit?

Hey guys,

I'm baffled here. Last week I blew something messing with the cigarette lighter, lost my interior lights and a bunch of other stuff. I got some fuses and dug around and figured it out. But something strange happened during this.

All of my gauges quit..Gas, oil pressure, speedo, tach...any idea how to troubleshoot this? I didn't see a fuse for it under the hood. They still have lights but no action.

Any advice?

Thanks

Jesse

Hi Jesse, you could check fuse 18 - 7.5A I believe. This seems to feed all the instruments you mentioned. Good luck!

Thanks Rhett, i'm going to try that later. I also noticed yesterday that the sunroof, the cold AC air and the interior light for the hatchback isn't working either. With that being the case, chances are pretty good that this is a fuse someplace. I'm planning on pulling out the glovebox and replacing the cigarette lighter so it can be updated to the 21st century (and I don't blow anymore fuses through there) and figured I would polk around under there to see if there is any rouge wiring. It is frustrating driving this without any monitors.

Well I replaced the #18 fuse with a new 7.5...nothing happend. I guess I am going to have to replace every fuse and relay to try and figure this out. This is silly, I can't believe there isn't a logical explanation for this. It just doesnt make sense that The gauges, the sun roof, the ac all quit at the same time shortly after I had the problem with the lighter.

Irritating.

Try Relay G2 which is the TERM 15 signal controlled by pin 15 of the ignition switch, this relay supplies power to the circuits you are having trouble with.

Thanks kfray, that did it. I also replaced all of my fuses and in the interim found a few of them were put in wrong by the original owner. Next I am replacing the lighter with a newer one to alleviate any future shorts.

Thanks for the help

Jesse
