944 9M torsen diff?
Hi All
Have a diff marked "9M" in my 944 S2 race car. we are not sure where it comes from or who made it (other than possibly ninemeister??) and can't find any info on it. It appears to lock under deceleration which supposedly a torsen type doesn't. Any knowledge out there? It has stopped working once when the crown wheel bolts were loose, and again just lately when the actual diff through-bolts worked loose. We have fixed that now but the diff will not lock up now and just spins the inside wheel out of corners. ![]() ![]() |

I would open the differential and inspect the worm gears. If it does not lock at all under acceleration something must have broken inside of it.
