 Are valve guides the same as valve seats?? Just ordering parts and was wondering if valve "guides" are those lil' round steel things that sit on the back of the valves.....I think they are called valve seats.  Are these the same things? 944S Boyeee |

 Valve seats are the conical shaped "buckets" (as you called them) on the cylinder head.  This is what the valve seals to when it is closed Valve guides are the "tubes" that the valve stem rides in. They are 2 completely different animals. Normally, you need the services of a machine shop to remove/install them. AFJuvat |
