Dashboard replacement?

I have looked at many 944's for sale that (big surprise... NOT) have a cracked dash. However some sellers already have a new dash that has not been installed.
So can I presume that to install a new dashboard is a very difficult procedure?
Has anyone done this job?

I have seen the dash cap and I will put up with the cracks at that point.

do they have the whole new dash(like$800bucks) or is it just a dash cover?
this sight sells the dash covers. i dont know if this will help though

If they got a dash for $800 find out where they got one, last I checked it was more like $2000.

I have one of those "carpet like material" dash covers - matches the interior of the car and is held in by velcro - It blends nicely and looks decent.

Yes the OEM dashboards are $$$ so if the seller is throwing it in on the deal that is a big plus.
BUT if it is next to impossible to install I will just go with the carpet like material.

I purchased a package deal from Partsheaven on a dash, bar that runs across the top of the windshield, center console and all the misc. plastic pieces on the dash. for $700 I think it was a steal they are all MINT 45K mi. wreck. No cracks or sccratches perfect! I also bought the side panels from that car for $375 I don't think I got a steal on those , but oh well...

I have yet to install any of it... Soon as the Super Charger is done...

Those are for series 1 cars - series 2 are a lot more expensive.

SANDOVAL - when you do the dash install please post here regarding how difficult the install is. Thanks

AFJuvat - What is the translation of your sig?

Everyone - I have purchased parts and get catalogs from THOSE OTHER GUYS (and afterward saw the parts cheaper elsewhere, but they were very nice people).

However - THOSE OTHER GUYS are a few miles down the road and are considered to be in direct competition with Pelicanparts.com so www.Pelicanparts.com doesn't appreciate us giving THEM free advertising here a www.Pelicanparts.com. I believe Pelican Parts carries many more parts that are on the www.Pelicanparts.com site so I recommend you call them if you don't find what you are looking for here at www.Pelicanparts.com. Of course I understand www.Pelicanparts.com does not have everything you might need but if you want to direct someone to THOSE other guys it might be more appropriate to do it through email... not here at www.Pelicanparts.com.

Thank you,

Did I mention www.Pelicanparts.com?
