Headliner - anyone here try to replace theirs?

I've seen the How To's online (I found a great write-up that a fellow in the UK did). Has anyone here tried to replace theirs? Any tips or tricks? Where did you get your materials from? Did you have to pop the glass out at all? I have a manual sun roof (1983) so I feel that MAY make it a bit easier. Mine is just really warped from old water damage that has since been fixed and it's the only part of the interior that looks pretty beat.

Are you talking about the headliner under the sunroof, or the liner around the sides of the sunroof?

The one under the sunroof can be changed but if water has gotten to the "cardboard" backing and ruined it, you will need to find a new cardboard backing. If the backing is fine then new material can be glued to the cardboard.

Ah sorry, I should have been a bit more specific. I mean the vinyl around the sides of the sunroof, not the actual sunroof panel.

I've just done around my sunroof you need 3 arms and be able to turn your neck sideways but you get there, you need to use a high temp rated contact adhesive by the way, cheers.

Mine has started coming away at the passenger side of the sunroof (but not the sunroof panel). Basically, failing slowly all the way to the rear sit towards the hatch. Cannot remove the sunroof anymord for fear of it tearing further. Interested to know if there is a headliner and rear door card kit available.

I thought I read that someone found the material pre-cut on Ebay. I will have to look. As for the rear seat cards, mine are pretty warped too. I found some from a member on here. I need to install them when I do the liner.

What is a rear seat card?

RedHookFern 05-15-2013 08:29 PM

The interior side panels in the back seat.

If you have ever changed out the rear speakers, you need them as they were sealed into the windows.

I did mine a couple of months back. Got the vinyl from the local fabric store. If you read the 'how to' that said you need quite a few of the "bulldog clips" ,you need quite a few more. In this case more is better. I went slow and kept checking as I trimmed as mine were so shot that I couldn't get a pattern off them. Huge improvement,

I know the before is the back and after is the front but those are the only pics I have right now and the condition was similarhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1368692533.jpg
