valve cover won't remove

87 944t.

I have been lifting the cam tower up. The only thing is that it rises only on the upper
side near intake. The bottom is barely moving. I've got it in a V coming off head.
This damn thing is incredible. Nothing should take this much effort. Obviously, I must have missed something on bottom side but I can't see what it is.
Any help?

Look around real close for something bolted to the rear of the tower, like the bracket for the test pipe, or the possibility of someone having used adhesive to glue the tower down at one point in the past. If it's lifting up at all, run a thin blade around the entire periphery (in the slot) to see if there's a spot where it won't continue.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
