Oil pan
Question... It looks like my oil pan on my 924 has a crack in it.. but it doesn't leak at all. Was this just a manufacture flaw? I will post a picture shortly.

It's possible it's a casting flaw if you're oil isn't leaking out. Is it on the bottom or the side where it might be above the oil level in the pan?

Road debris can also cause damage

It is most likely a casting flaw. I have seen it on a number of pans. I have hit rumble strips with my spec car and broken some chips out the the bottom cooling fins but never cracked a pan. These pans are pretty bullet proof. The only damage I have seen to the pans is a rod through the side.

I'm on my phone I can't upload a picture from here. It looks pretty clean to me. And it's on the front, down and back.

That crack looks like someone tried to hide it with hammering around it. If you plan to do a pan gasket replacement, I'd find another pan just to be safe. Also do the rod bearings and rod bolts while you're in there.

I have an oil pan from an 87 944S, that I haven't unbolted from the engine yet... I'm in So-Cal, if that's easier or cheaper with shipping...

924s, 944na and 944s all use the same oil pan. If its a 924, its the audi motor and different pan.
