What are the two round ceramic things behind the battery?

What are the two round ceramic things on the firewall behind the battery? They each have two wires going to them. They look like resistors. What components do they do the run? Thanks.

It's the fan resistors.

Hope they don't look like this

If they do I would fix them right away so your radiator cooling fans work right, this is how that set looked after I fixed the wiring. It was not a hard job to do.

That's what I thought they were, and yes my wires look like that as well. The corrosion in the wire goes all the way to the fuse box. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the sub-harness out of the bottom of the fuse box, and how to get the wire out of the sub-harness so I can re-build the sub-harness. Thanks.
