Plastic sunroof cam...can this be fixed?

So the "S" continues to vie for my attention and refuses that I even speak to the other lady (my TR6).

In replacing my sunroof gears, I noticed that the cable was only travelling one way only. Dug through the motor assembly in the back and found this:




I found that plastic piece and two spacers deep down on the floor of the car. Looks like it simply crumbled at some point. Any suggestions on how to fix this besides having to buy an entire motor assemply?

First of all, a HUGE shout out to Kyle at Only944.com. We talked about this part & how it was NLA unless one wants to buy the entire motor assembly (no thanks). So he came up with this to help me out:

For those of you who ever need this part in the future - and you very well might - Kyle's part came in the mail and was much more thicker & durable than the original cam. It's a direct bolt-on replacement. He's such a friendly guy to talk to and a true tinkerer.

But one important side note: when taking everything apart, be sure to switch your rear hatch light off. In my excitement, my arm touched the exposed lit bulb for a second. It was painful to say the least
