A/C compressor noise - ringin
 
What would cause a ringing noise when the A/C compressor is on? This is a late 85 car...

That would be the nose bearing on the compressor. It's going out. When they begin to whine, squeal or ring when the compressor is under a load, it's time to replace it. I have some new ones laying around if you would like to replace it.

Is this the pulley bearing or something internal to the compressor?
