starter

Anybody have a picture of the back of the starter? I took it off in May and it's been so long that I can't remember which cables go where....as well as that little stud next to the torque tube. I know, not my brightest move...

It's easy. 3 wires. 2 large ones and one small. The small one goes to the solenoid ( a 7 or 8mm nut). The two larger ones go to the main electrical connection (13mm nut). Can't mix them up because of the different sizes.

ok great! That sounds pretty familiar. Now what about this little stud on the bell housing with the nut, maybe 8mm?

The heat shield. Although I just leave mine off.

Or if not that - if it's up above, it'd be where you put the stays for the wiring?

It's right above the torque tube. It looks like some sort of ground but I only know of those starter wires that come down that far.

That'd be where you attach a stay for the starter wires - it holds them in place. There's another farther up the bell housing as well. The stay is a metal ring cased in rubber.
