After 2yr 9mo, my 944 runs - PICS!!!!! S transplant!

I just copy/pasted the source from my rennlist post, so thats why the spacing is a little wierd...

Pullin out of the garage! My GTI probably jealous.

Donor car, had some nasty dings in the drivers door so we decided to part it out.

You will notice some extra weight missing...

Because that is what happens when you give Campeck one of these (Plasma Torch)

Yay! Engine out!!

Poor car, sitting up the hill, probably wondering where its heart and face went.

My little 944!!!!!

My hood sat outside for the time my 944 was in the garage, which will explain the color of the hood in relation to the rest of the car, and this...

After setting him free from my hood... I think he likes them too!

Ready to go in! Excitment level building!

Ick! So thats what 200K miles looks like w/ oil leaks and smoke and... eww

Looking to see where to mount the intercooler piping.

Almost in one piece!

It RUNS! It is actually idling nicely in this pic!!

Yes, it is pretty.

Well... No bulb in turn signal + spades in turn signal connector touching together + wrong size fuse for whatever reason in fuse box = this...

So... Yes, my drive home was FRICKIN FUN!!!!

This thing runs up to the red much nicer than the old 8v engine

Anyway... I have to do something about my tag now - it was a '04 sticker on it :O I think I need to pay 3 years worth of tag fees

Its worth it though!!!

Thanks to Josh B and Aribop !

Without their efforts, my car would still be on jackstands in my garage, with the 8v engine sitting on the floor under the engine bay.

It is really nice to have a clean engine compartment to work in, isn't it? I want one of those plasma cutters...looks like they could create some real fun! Not sure I would destroy the front of a 944 with it though. Too many other ugly things that need destruction! Glad to see you have yours running again!

Nice work! and in record time . Was that a test fit of a turbo in one of those pics?

I better get moving on my lt1 project or I risk getting left in the dust at the Tail of the Dragon

I bet you will have a lot of fun in that car.

Speedy

What is up with that one picture that had a turbo in it? Are you just toying with our emotions?
