Question late 944 u.s. spec?

I've read that the u.s. spec 944 na has horsepower of 147 to 151. Anyone know the real answer? Also, how many foot pounds of torque? 86-88 models.

86-87 ROW engines had a higher compression ratio. Just replacing the DME is not going to gain you anything. Are you also replacing the pistons?

I rebuilt the top end in May of 2011 but I did not modify the pistons so I guess that idea is out the door. Thanks for the note.

But seriously.... maybe a boroscope through the spark plug hole.

Yep, you need those Euro pistons (on the right), a DME and cat delete to get to Euro spec.
