1985 944- can i use right side calipers on the left side?
My circle track 944 broke the bleeder screw off the left front caliper. Wewant to eliminate the right front brake to help turn left. Can we take the right front caliper and install it on the left front? With the bleeder screw broken off, I had spongey brake pedal and very little brake. Made it hell to race.
Thanks guys |
The bleeder will be upside down

And the brake hose will be too short.

Some PO installed a left side caliper on the right side of my old jeep. Took me quite a while (and help from a friend) to figure out why I had a spongy pedal.
So now I have to pull the caliper and tilt it around each time I need to bleed the brakes. If you ever have to do this make sure to put a block in there to keep the piston from popping out too far. I know, I know, I need to just replace the caliper. . . . |
I'm in that boat right now. I was shipped the wrong-sided caliper by an online supplier (not pelican) but was too anxious to get back on the road to send it back...bleeding can be a chore. But it works...
