Cooling fan upgrade

My 84 has been in surgery the last two weeks, subjected to a host of repairs and improvements including the installation of a 6 blade cooling fan assembly. One of the original (3 blade) motors was damaged so a local friend of mine "just happened to have" a good used unit off of a turbo he parted a while back. What a difference!! The noise level is half of my original unit and it appears that air flow has improved. One caveat; these later fan connectors are 90 degrees offset and with the 90 degree cable harness connector, I had to get creative with routing the wiring to avoid rubbing the accessory belts. So far, so good...

very interesting. I was just noticing how loud my fans are on my '87. You may be on to something. Did the connectors on your car fit the connectors on the fan unit, even though you had to modify the routing?

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

The seller gave me a partial wiring harness with the newer 180 deg. connectors but I couldn't bring myself to cutting the original wiring. So, I simply bent the connector on to itself and tie-wrapped it at three places instead of the factory's single location. I triple checked for adequate clearance to the accessory belts and she's been doing great (since yesterday). I have to mention that a great deal of time was spent bleeding the cooling system; there was much steam coming out of the bleed screw. Once all the air was evacuated, I've noticed a very stable operating temp and the fan come on as intended. An upgrade highly recommended by senior posters of this and other forums and now, by a rookie (me).

To answer your question; yes, the connections are the same.
