Cooling Fan wiring harness and fan resistors

Hello,

got an 88' 944 N/A that is a wiring mess. Gonna sort it all out over the next few weeks.

the fan resistor wires are cut and not connected and prior owner ran his own hot wire so both fans are on full speed whenever the key is on.

I would like to put the vehicle back to stock.

Where were the original fan power wires (harness) routed ?
I assume they came from the fuse box and went along with the wires for the washer bottle pump, and headlamp motor? I assume it was more than 2 wires?
They may still be in the harness and I can splice and solder onto them.

I checked the 3 pin temp fan switch and fan relay. that circuit appears to be working properly. I will splice and reconnect the fan resitor wires on the firewall.
They look pretty bad under the hood, so I will try to splice into them behind the glovebox. Does this sound reasonable?

Maybe if I make this simpler:

On the factory cooling fan wiring. where do the wires go (route) from the fans to.....?

prior owner removed the wires.

hope this helps

If you are in need of wires or connectors, let me know. I have a complete wire harness (from an 87 S) that I am parting out. And I can/have parted out individual wires and clusters.

Anyone who simply hotwires a function as a shortcut to truly fixing it does not sound thorough enough to actually remove the wires. (maybe race apps excepted) the wires to the resistors run right behind the glove box then take a hard 90 degree through the firewall to the resistors. Take out the box and you'll see them wrapped in a hard black plastic sleeve.

I am asking about the actual fan power wires. Not schematic wise, but -physically- how were they routed in the engine compartment? what he left of the factory harness may be still in a bundle, and I can reconnect to it.

Yes, The resistor wires were also cut off flush with the rubber grommet.
I read a post here about how to reconnect them. That shouldnt be an issue.

I'm installing my exhaust today so I'll be under the car anyway. I'll try and snap some photos and see if that helps you.
