turn signals causing car to stall
So i have been having some running problems with my 944s2 I have changed out almost every part now today had her running great till i got a little miss fire. then when I used my turn signal all my gauges went to 0 and my car ran like crap. When i let off the turn signal the car went back to normal. I tried it a few more times and id did it every time after that. Any one have any ideas or had the same problem ?

I'm sure this doesn't help but whenever I hit my turn signal the seatbelt light in the center console of my early car lights up. If there is any relationship between these maybe someone will let us know.

lol this car is driving me nuts. I think i will sell it when i finally fix it and get a newer porsche maybe a cayman.

Got a mouse in (or under) the fuse box? :D

Sounds like you may have a short in one of the turn signal lights. Do the turn signals all work with the engine off, ignition on. If one light doesn't work, disconnect it and see if the engine still has problems.

does not matter what way you turn the signal it messes up. the car runs bad enough on its own but when you hit the turn signal it runs much worse its weird. I would not give up on this care but it is my daily driver and I cant afford to be dumping money in a car I cannot drive. I love the car but I need reliability.

Have you inspected your wiring? I'm not joking about the mouse.

where should i start inspecting?

with the engine off i turn on the turn signals and they are very dim they flash but u can hardly see them

That's probably because there's a short between their wiring and a bunch of others...
For starters, I would check anywhere those wires come close to other wires - a good first place to look where most wires converge is in the fuse box. The second place would be right underneath the fuse box. Do you have the wiring diagrams and parts manuals for the car? |
Just a guess but sounds like bad grounds under dash and for DME. Low voltage at DME getting even worse when you use the turn signal.

Start by pulling the fuses for the turn signals, and see if it happens. Try pulling the bulbs after that (with the fuses in). Try another switch (borrow one from a friend). Maybe the results will point you in a direction.
