Now that you have done your first major repair:

Welcome to the real 944 owners club!

PS: What is the charging voltage?

Now all you need is a small vacuum leak or an ignition problem that causes random starting/smooth running difficulties.... Then young Jedi, your training shall be complete...

Looks like we need to run you through a refresher.

DME relay.

Hah!

Which brings up the scarce and constantly developing details of a project that I've had in the back of the little gray cells for a while -- a dumb dumb panel that goes where my unused center speaker grill is that shows the status of the critical relays and other circuits. Besides throwing in a fuel pressure gauge and an oil temp gauge.

Actually, I have done a fair amount of work on Air Cooled VW'S including engine rebuilds. This is my first foray into the world of Porsches. It sure is tight in there, not much room to work! I have been reading this board for a while so i am getting more familiar with the sorts of problems that are common with this car. This message board is truly a great resource for us! Thanks!

PS Im getting just under 14V now. The needle is at the halfway point.

Hah!

Ahh my friend, my lowly problems stem from the fact that I am a member of the cult of regular scheduled maintenance...
