Forced to Sell 944
My parents are forcing me to sell my 944. Its a 1984 944. The reasoning is the harsh winters we have here in South Bend, Indiana. What kind of car should I get in the 10-15K range?? I would like relative performance but any thoughts?

Put some snow tires on the 944 and you'll be fine. By the way, South Bend winters are not that bad. If you have to get a new car, get a '96-98 Audi A4 quattro, or a '89-'91 BMW 325iX and mod the hell outta it

By the way, I live not too far away from you (KY), and I got through last winter just fine w/ the 944.

For the love of Pete stay away from anything with the "Mitsubishi" logo. Since I still do a ton of work on the side for people, I see at least 10 request a year from people to replace Eclipse and LeBaron engines. They are all the same Mitsu/Hyundai junk. If you have to get yourself a good reliable front wheel drive car. Some sort of Honda or Toyota sedan that will run forever.

Snowfall averages 81.8" per year...much of it from lake effect snow squalls.
That is all I have to say to John. Nabeel I live in South Bend my house is less than 2 1/2 miles from michigan. The main reason for not taking it in the snow is that it has never seen snow. The PO never took it in the snow or rain and kept it covered. -Lee
