Hello, good info on this board. All of your past answers to common questions have been very helpful so far. Here's one that I couldn't find an answer to.
I'm working on an '83 944 NA. There is a cylinder shaped plastic piece where the O2 sensor connects monted to the rear firewall. It is orange-ish in color and about 1" long. My question is, what is it? Is there a resistor of some sort in there? The reason I ask is because mine is all cracked up and I'm wonder if it is messing up my O2 sensor reading as the car seems to be running rich and sluggish. Where/how can I find/make a replacement? or is this piece not really necessary? Could I just take it out of the circut? -Matt |

Mine is actaully broken, I can see the wire in the middle of it. But I replaced my O2 sensor and it doesn't seem to harm it.

Thanks for the reply.
Anyone else have any more information on this piece? |

It is simply a connector. The heavy green wire coming out of it is shielded. Mine was completely broken and I replaced it with another butt type connector, soldering a lead to the shield and attaching that to the clamp. Works just fine.
