okay, least driven

Here is the start of the least driven 944 registered and ready to drive club. As stated before I put about 2000 miles on mine this year, I'm sure there are a lot less. What about you?

Gawernator 11-26-2013 07:29 PM

Hmm 20 miles in 3 months? Lol

John_AZ 11-27-2013 08:25 AM

Gaw, what about tow truck miles? ;)
John

1500 miles in 2 seasons.

may 1st to nov. 30.

jhowell371 11-27-2013 10:03 AM

1800 miles in 3 1/2 years. Sunny Sundays only :)

jpk 11-27-2013 10:33 AM

With my 968, I think I put more miles on at the track at DE's than on the street this year...

cockerpunk 11-27-2013 10:44 AM

why would this ever be a good thread?

these cars are made for driving, not sitting in your garage

Volhv 11-27-2013 10:46 AM

8000 kms, or 5000 miles in the last 5 months. Before that it spent 2 years on jack stands getting sorted out.

flash75 11-27-2013 01:46 PM

About 7,000 miles in 2 years. 86 944.

Zero miles. Oh, wait- The odometer is broken.....

Gawernator 11-27-2013 05:51 PM

John, it actually is driving fine besides not having the alignment I want! I just don't want to drive it much before I repaint the car, I have started it and will go around the block for a little. My odometer is also broken but I think I've driven at least 7k miles in 2 years!

pfarah 11-27-2013 06:45 PM

Over 9k miles since purchasing it May 2012.

fejjj 11-27-2013 08:29 PM

Agreed!

Guys this isn't meant to be a "good thread" I was trying to bring awareness to the fact that some of us don't drive as much as we should. For my first few years of owner ship of the 944 I spent the time fixing and bringing my car back to original. Then I did a poor respray so I was a little embarrassed. It looked decent but to me not good enough there for I did not drive much. After this next paint job "not being done by me" I will drive this car as much as I drive my Buick.:)

iplagolf 11-28-2013 04:43 AM

Wait…You're supposed to drive them? I thought they were black holes up on jacks in the garage you threw money into…:D Still don't have the oil cooler fixed. Started a new job but will get it done this weekend!

alan6272 11-28-2013 06:35 AM

LOL golf, I'll bet most all of us have been there, like I said the first 2 maybe 3 years that was me. Then after it was on the road there were many other issues I had to deal with.

iplagolf 11-28-2013 08:55 AM

Actually, mine has been relatively free of problems. Had an alternator go south, changed the belts, etc after I bought it. The DME mod went out on the trip back from the east coast when I bought it. Made a jumper and got it home. I see some of the horror stories here and knock on wood for my good fortune! As soon as I get the oil cooler sorted out, I'll drive it to work this winter on clear days. The heater is like a blast furnace compared to the one in the Ranger.

jhowell371 11-28-2013 02:52 PM

In defense of only driving the Red 84 2000 miles in the past 3 1/2 years I drove my other 84 944, "Goldie" 20,000 miles in two and a half years. So far I've put 2,000 miles on the S2 that replaced "Goldie" in April of this year:D My brother is now enjoying "Goldie"

jamess2 11-28-2013 03:53 PM

I have owned my 944 Turbo for almost a month and driven it once. It came to me on a flat bed not running. I figured that out and now getting ready to sort out all the other stuff that's going on. My wife is getting ready to hate me....

That's pretty accurate here. The one I'm working on has been perched in the garage for a decade.
