My upshift indicator and fuel economy guage are acting wierd. The guage doesn't move smoothly and seems to like both extremes except when I am cruising. Once at a steady speed it moves to a reasonable measurement. The upshift indicator isn't working right (ie like it used to). The tach is fine, speedo/odo are fine too. I know that the upshift/guage use tack signal, speedo signal, injector signal... it is the erratic movement of the guage that is unusual. Could this be a symptom of a vacuum leak for the fuel injection...??? Any thoughts? Car runs fine...

My miles per gallon gauge is usually around 00000 and then I reach 90 and it kicks it around 25 or so. at Idle, it is supposed to read hours or min. per gallon, I forget which. once you get above 5mph or sumpin it goes to mpg. The manual suggests taking off from a stop with "light and steady" pressure on the throttle. Pretend yer racing a Hyundai Excel with a burned piston, and yer gauge should straighten out for ya.
I can't help ya with the upshift, I have a automaterical
