The early 968s used the key style locking lug as well. I think they switched over mid-94 to the meguard style lock. Your local Porsche dealer may be able to help you with a replacement key but I'm sure a locksmith could get it to release in a second. I assume the key is not working for any of the lock lugs.

it was indeed mid-94 that they made the switch. i long ago tossed the early locks that came on my early 94. they were just too finickey.

Ok. Since I have never seen an earlier 968 and the few S2's i have seen have had the mcguard style lock, figured they had been switched in the 90's. Now I realize the instruction for placement of the locks in the manual.
Jeff isnt it nice to have someone to post almost exactly the same thing after correct info is already given?

but, isn't it nice to have somebody take issue with every post somebody makes, and contribute nothing positive? what a great asset to the community
