No headlights
I don't have any headlights coming on in my '86 951. They come on but they are very dim and I can't even get the fogs to turn on. This just happened suddenly. I'm guessing a bad ground somewhere along the way. Where should I start to clean first? Is it possible this is a bad headlight switch? How can I remove the switch to inspect/clean it?

Sounds as if the Ground Wires need to be taken apart, cleaned, and reinstalled. All Ground Wires are BROWN in color. Look at the Head Light Wires where they move/bend when the lights are turned on. The Head Light Switch is a known problem and has caused fires by it shorting out. Disconnect the battery and then you can remove the switch by either reaching the back of the panel or remove the panel the switch is located. Follow part of the below instructions dealing with the Left side of the dash.
