My Flex Disc/Plate Repair is Finished
YEAH! I got my car back.....but my checkbook is running on fumes. A local northern Virginny shop took care of the repair. Good price on the flex disc/plate as well as an acceptable number of labor hours. In addition to the disc/plate, I had the shop replace the rear main seal, both motor mounts, both rear brake pads/sensors as well as
had them take care of the fan problem that I didn't know was a problem. Shortly after putting my car in, I read that some people had problems with their fans blowing after turning off the car (I had that, too). It turned out that on my car the switch was defective which caused the fan to stay on all the time and for a few moments after turning off the car. I also had the power steering hose rerouted because whoever worked on it last had the hose jammed against one of the cooling fans for the radiator, leading to poor cooling. Whew. All in all, money hopefully well spent although it certainly means no western skiing for me this winter. -timmer ![]() ![]() ![]()

That's one broken flex disc. Just out of curiosity, how much did all that cost and and which shop did you go to?

okay, you twisted my arm. The cost of the disc/plate was $750 with a mere 10hrs spent on it's labor.
