ABS light

Just completed engine and subframe swap on my S2, and the ABS light is on at startup and will not turn off. Any suggestions where to begin diagnosis?

Swap? From what to what?

If it comes on right away that's usually a disconnected wheel sensor (or broken wire) I'd ohm all the wheel sensors at the ABS brain. It could also be the ABS relay.

From a grenaded S2 engine to one that works correctly. Maybe I missed hooking up one of the wheel sensors. Thanks.

Did you check the fuses? There are two of them, and either one will trigger the light.

The big clue here is that the light will typically come on, go out, then come back on if there's fault.

Since it's not going out (which is the bulb check function), most likely you have a power or ground problem...

It actually did go out once this week. I'll get under it and figure it out tomorrow. Thanks!
