Any suggestions on where to find NLA special tools?
I need to try and find a Porsche tool 9210, part number 00072192100. I'm told it's NLA and there are only two dealers in the US & mexico who have one listed in inventory. One of them couldn't really help when I called.
It shows up as 'available' in many of the online parts searches but that doesn't seem like it's the case. If anyone has any ideas at all I'd really appreciate it. It's been suggested that if I can borrow one I can get a machine shop to duplicate it, so I'm fine with renting if I can't find one to buy. |

Is that the tool that presses out the BS bearings in the "nose cones"?

Yeah its "back ordered" which means NLA for something like that. Sorry.

Yep, exactly. I know I could probably make do with a punch or something but if I can find a new or used tool it'd be preferable. Hoping I might be able to borrow/rent/buy one and am wondering if there's like a 'go-to' place for this kind of thing.
Auto atlanta said they had a used one a while back that they found at a swap meet, but it's been sold. |

Auto Atlanta says a lot of things and I suspect that was probably sold several times to different people :/
Perhaps you could contact some Porsche service shops or German shops. Also if you have a picture of the tool and the item it should be used on, a decent fab or machine shop could probably build you one.

Exactly. It's NLA but in reality, it's NLN, as in No Longer Needed.

You might find a local shop who will loan it to you, if leave your rolex as collateral and bring back some microbrews as payment.

I asked at a local auto parts store and the referred me to a shop who loaned me a fiber scope and a valve spring compressor. For a porsche specialty tool maybe start at your local foreign auto parts store and they may know of a local shop who has the tool.

You might try ThePorscheShop in the U.K..
They have a lot of Porsche tools, as well as our friends in Germany.
