HI all,
As part of my 87 944S resto, I have pulled the gear cluster, and dif from my transaxle case. After inspecting everything (bearings, races, gears, synchros) I have concluded that it only needs to be resealed. That being said, I would like to pressure wash the case while leaving the remaining bearings/races installed. The case has 25 years of crude built up, and pressure wash would take care of it in no time. So if I go that route, and take compressed air to the bearing/races immediately after washing, and then coat with LPS preservative, do you folks see any issues? Thanks much. Jeff ![]() |

Nope. Should be fine.
