944 Sports Cup Class 8a Race car

We have been building a race car, and soon its ready to hit the track!
Heres the dyno result. Torque delivery is very nice. Max hp for this class is 174hp with current weight, so we're quite close to the allowed limit

Really nice torque curve.. Looks like you'll have 200+ on tap for
quite a bit of the rev range..

How about some pictures of the car?

What are the engine specs?
Is this the elusive 944 turbodiesel?

Engine has quite many modifications.
- Wössner 11.5:1 Pistons
- 944 Turbo forged rods
- 2.5ltr engine block with steel sleeves
- Balanced FW and crankS.
- vibration balancers removed from the engine
- Jenvey ITB's + Pipercross airbox
- Tatech 32Lite engine management

Here's some pics more:

Next step would be getting 226hp (Class8B limit). It might be difficult with N/A setup, but easily doable with supercharger. Let's see how this thing goes this year. I think it could be quite nice to drive since it's quite light car (980kg). Car has mildly tuned camshaft which could have more potential (of course there's a risk of loosing torque?). Also porting the intake header might bring extra smth..?

If you have any good recommendations how to loose extra 30kg I'm open for suggestions!
Car's front hood, fenders and bumper are fibreglass, doors and rear is steel. rear hatch already plastic. Doors are gutted but still steel. Dunno if there's much weight in stock dash..? Howabout replacing roof with CF skin? Driver is of course out of this equation.

thats pretty slick.

I might have misread the dyno...is that ftlbs or Nm?
and are those numbers wheels or corrected to crank?

it's Nm and from engine, not from wheels.

Glad to see someone's building a NA!! Thank you for posting the results.

As for the 174hp limit, in United Kingdom "Augment Automotive Limited" offers a performance camshafts for the Porsche 944 NA. According to their dynochart a 924S makes 174hp, close to the limit of your class.

Thanks for sharing the cam info H.F.944! Yes, its a different route to go with N/A than turbo, but for racing n/a is easier to drive.
We have had some thoughts of whats the next step, but lets see how we manage with this car in this class. One option could be adding supercharger, but probably will put the money on getting more laps and improving driving skills.

Do anyone have ideas what stock head is flowing - thinking if cam or head is limiting more currently.
Still, hp is quite in the max for its class, so tq improvements are better way to go,

Putting S/C could propably give extra 50hp /75Nm which would but us nicely into class 8B limit (229/305Nm.). Installing 3.0 16v could be one option too, but why change engine if base setup works nicely. After that stage 3.0 16v Turbo would then be the way..
