To me you say the crank is turning, maybe the timing belt is broke and the valves are bent so motor will sound as though its not turning but in fact the pistons are but the camshaft is not? This will sound like a fast spinning.

Billy, you need to let us know what you are working on before you ask how to fix it or other questions about your problem(s).
Different motors and timing 924 VS 944 etc.

I see you doing similar on the 924.org forum, so get that in up front in your initial "ask question" and save anyone that may want to help, some time/effort.

Clutch only disables the flywheel/engine from the torque tube and trans ( if in gear). So if flywheel is turning you are in netural~

If the flywheel and the crank pulley are turning, the motor is turning. What do you mean by "the motor isn't turning"?

rotor

Mr Bill
Pull the Ft cap on your your "cambox" where plug wires exit and internal main spark rotor lives. Look at that rotor. It sends spark to 4 cylinders when it spins and gives an indication if cam is still driven my the timing belt.

Let us know if thats turning when "motor / flywheel" part spins with your lower motor parts / starter driven .
