alternator
please help, I changed the alternator and battery, there are both new and the battery is still not charging what cloud be the problem. does it need a ground the alternator. SmileWavy

No need for a ground. Any problems with the gauge cluster? If the warning light for the charging system is not in-circuit I think you lose the power that excites the alternator field.
Do you have power at the smaller post (D+) with the key on? If not you can jumper that and see if you start charging. Careful though if it's shorted you might get some sparks so don't use a piece of coathanger wire. -Joel. |
