Mileage Sticker Location...
Where typically would the mileage sticker be placed after a timing belt change ?

On top of the air box so you remember to check at +-750 miles with "waterpump" pulley test and final retension at about 1500 miles. (My schedule)

I can't see one on my car so i was wondering where they typically were installed.
Would a Porsche dealer be able to run the VIN and pull a service history ? |

To each his own. I want my engine compartment to look 100% stock so no maintenance stickers for me. There is a place to record timing belt replacement in the maintenance book.

If you don't know the belt maintenance, it should be changed. Even if there was a sticker, record, note in the manual, carfax listing, etc. that stated the belt was changed at X mileage I wouldn't trust it anyway. Unless I knew the PO, mechanic, etc. Last edited by FrenchToast; 04-10-2014 at 11:35 AM.. |

The Porsche dealer could probably tell you if it was changed at a porsche dealership. With their labor rates, most people probably either do it themselves or goto an indy shop. The general consensus is going to be to change it if there is any doubt about when it was done.
