Bearing stuck in rod bearing cap

I'm replacing the rod bearings in my '83 944, but the bearing in the rod cap is so snug in there I'm having trouble getting it out. What is the technique used to remove the bearing from the rod cap? I don't want to pry a screw driver in there for fear of damaging the metal on the rod cap.

Thanks,
Dustin

Try using a brass punch.

Never mind. Was a simple problem. A follow up question is whether my new bearings have a difference between the top and bottom. They look identical and don't seem to be labeled differently.

They're the same, just line up the notches.
