Bought the Durametrics code reader for my 95 968. Where the heck is the port to connect this to?

Starting in 1996, all cars and light trucks sold in the US were required to adhere to the OBD II standard.

I am not sure if your '95 968 has a code port.

Its a big round socket (about 1.5 inch diameter) at the top of the passenger side kickpanel, just outboard of the glovebox.

correct. it is mounted vertically, hanging down under the dash. there is a screw cap covering it.
