After repairing the shifter, I can honestly say that I am super pleased with how well it shifts. There is still a minor amount of play and I think I have to work that out at the transmission. Will post pics today of a lot of the progress that I've been making!

The car has been back in the garage for a few days for the upcoming work.

First thing was removing the tape and paper from the door frame and weatherstripping. Using automotive Goo Gone:

Most of it came off of the weatherstripping bt I'm having a hard time getting it off of the metal:

Also started re-cleaning the engine bay. Got the corrosion off of the cam housing and got it cleaned up:

After the dash cover was removed..The glue is still on there or it has discolored the dash. Seems as though the glue had been on there for well over a decade:

Next phase is to replace the ISV hoses and vacuum lines. Long term winter project is a new clutch. But the good news is that I continue to work on the car weekly.

Got the car back in the garage and am tracing a coolant leak. Looks to be the radiator and from the puddle something on the right side of the engine seems to be seeping. It in my leaks after the car is driven and then parked. A visual inspection revealed no obvious leaks. I'm wondering if the coolant drain plug on the block has a bad crush washer or if its slightly loose. Time to do some digging.

No updates as of yet. Been working on the ignition failure on my 94 Corvette. Should get this car back in after that for some more work. Been running and driving great though. Its been my daily transportation as long as the snow isn't flying!

What happened to your Fuch wheels in the first several pics, I like them a lot more than the cookie cutters shown in the last pics.

I think that old indash cassette deck might need some attention in the future also.

I swapped the Fuchs wheels over to my early 85 and used the 85's cookie cutters on this car because the wheels had new tires. I wanted to use this car over the summer and I had a bunch to do to the early 85, so it was ok that it sat with the Fuchs wheels, which have flat spotted tires on them.

First wave of new parts came in today! I ordered quite a few more though, so I'm not sure when I'll start in on replacing things. The sooner I sell my 86 944, the sooner I can have this car back in the garage for good.

Took the car for a drive today to ensure the speedometer was working properly after I took the cluster back apart and cleaned all of the connections. After I got back I washed the car and at the end of the night, tucked it safely away in the garage:

So, I ordered a bunch of parts for the car yesterday and decided that I would wash the car again because it had some pollen on it and I wanted the car to be clean when I worked on it when the parts arrived. I pull the car out and notice that the wind is picking up and its getting cloudy pretty quick like. I decide to wash the car anyways...I get it hosed down and get the soap on the car and it starts to pour:

I did what I could to get the soap off and pulled it back in the garage. The rain stopped and I was able to hose the car off the rest of the way and get it back in the garage, though I'm not particularly pleased with the wash job I did. But better than having pollen on the car making me sneeze in the garage:

Felt like messing with the car today and decided to see what was up with the gas gauge not working. So after some diagnosing, I was led to the sender. Pulled it and cleaned it and began my testing:

Low and behold it worked!!!:

So, I put it all back together and it seems to work just fine now. I'm pretty darn pleased!:
