Ordered new hoses for the ICV and a new hose and seal for the AOS along with intake gaskets. Got everything apart and cleaned up and am getting it back together. Trying to eliminate a high idle that sometimes creeps up after a drive on the highway. I found that the AOS hose as well as both ICV hoses were cracked and leaking. Its a wonder the engine ran as good as it did!

AOS cleaned with new o-rings installed:

ICV with cleaned with new hoses:

Acid washed the intake manifold and got it all clean:

Car is all back together and running great. No leaks or issues and idle is rock solid. The engine will pull to redline without hesitation now. Took it for a long drive today and got gas and had a great day in the car!! More than pleased!

Shift boot install wasn't what I had hoped it would be. I may order another and try again. The slave cylinder failed recently and I replaced it with an FAE brand slave cylinder. I'm glad the car is back on the road for sure! Its sitting in my garage currently so that I can tinker with a few things. Will try and get a few pics posted tonight!!

I've been working on fixing my yard machines (some freebies)... commonly finding carb problems. I've started the habit of acid washing the carbs/parts using an apple cider vinegar soak ... incredible how a couple brush sessions and overnight soaks will remove nearly anything. Stuff comes out looking like new or better... are you using something similar or a commercial chemical?

My buddy is a truck driver and he would buy this acid wash to clean his aluminum trailer deck and wheels. He said it was called "Alumabright" or something. Said he bought it at Napa. It works great but you have to be careful with using it or it will damage the aluminum.

I did get the lower radiator hose installed and it seems to have fixed my coolant leak. I ordered a Gates brand hose previously from Napa and the hose was too short. The one I got from 944online was perfect and installed without issue. Took some pics of my old hose to show everyone why it was leaking. Appears as if it burst at some point and someone cobbled it together with a plastic coupler and some clamps. I couldn't see it until the hose was removed.

The Gates hose that I ordered next to the original hose..The Gates brand hose is too short:

Looking forward to getting started on the car again this spring. First thing will be tires, then a clutch and belts and seals at the same time. Belts looked ok before I put the car away for the winter but I still think its good insurance to change them anyways. If I am able, I'll paint the car this year as well. It really needs it!

Brought the car home yesterday and bled the cooling system. Started cleaning it up a bit from sitting since November. Today I decided to take it out and get some pics. Once the rain stopped, I took the 944 out to the end of the road and snapped some pics to share. First of the season!

Looking forward to continuing this project. Next big things are the clutch and belts. Hope to paint it this year as well.

Thank you! She could stand to be a bit cleaner but the weather right now does not lend itself to clean cars. I need another garage. Mine is full of cars.. ugh..

Not much progress on the car recently. Saving for some parts I need. A few nights ago, my oldest son insisted I take his picture next to one of his very favorites that I own. He always loves riding in the car:

Spent some time with the car yesterday. Took it for a short drive and gave it a bath. Thought I'd share a couple pics:

Great looking project! I need to do a thread like this as well. Don’t forget to change the soft fuel lines in the engine bay!

Thank you! The soft fuel lines are on the list as is the soft fuel line on the rail! Definitely some good insurance when replacing those!
