944 auto transmission fluid level "sight glass"
Hi, I am new to the 944 forum though I have been participating on the 911 forum for a long time (I own a 1973 1/2 911T that I've had for 20 years(.
Anyhow, a friend gave my son a non-running '86 944 with an automatic transmission. It has sat for about 14 years. We are doing step one of the usual barn-find process: flushing the fuel system and boiling the gas tank. When we finally got the car up on jack stands, we found that this thing I am calling the transmission level sight glass -- a small, clear plastic vessel on the back of the auto transmission, was cracked and leaking. Looks like it could be used to check the transmission fluid level. I cannot seem to find the part in Pelican. Does anyone know what it is called and where I can find one? |

These parts may still be available from the dealer. I have attached the pertinent page from the Porsche PET...
