Help
I replaced the water pump timing belt and counter balance belt with all the idle and adjustment pulleys. But when I try to install the lower pulley and torque the crank bolt down engine will not turn. I pull the counter balance pulley off and just put the crank bolt in and the engine turns really easy.. I did not remove the lower timing belt pulley, i should have to do the main seal but got lazy. So it was never removed, for some reason you can not turn the engine over when lower pulleys are assembled and crank bolt is torqued to spec 155? SO i dont even have it torqued yet and the engine will not turn... What the heck is going on??? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Your timing belt pulley on the crankshaft is installed backwards. The flange should point towards the front of the car.
![]() It's number 14 in the diagram.
