Fuel or gas from head studs

Hi guys, I have an 86 944 N/S. I have a leaking fuel injector at present that has leaked an amount of fuel over the head, however I have noticed that two of the head bolts/studs near the spark plug sockets are bubbling exhaust gas through the fuel I am assuming. Or would it be possible to be bubbling a combination of fuel and gas from here?? The engine shows no other signs of having a head gasket failure.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem.

Thanks
John

I hope you have a fire extinguisher near by. The boiling point of gasoline can be as low as 100deg at atmospheric pressure, it could be the temperature of the head causing the fuel to bubble I would think.

The fuel injector body may be cracked and leaking. Or it may be a leaking o-ring or fuel line. Don't take any chances on an engine fire. Don't drive it until it is fixed.

I had an injector do the same thing. Replaced them with early ones since they are easier to source.

Note that early vs late have different flow rates. I had one start leaking the same way, everywhere, from the joint between the tip and body of the injector. Replaced them all with used ones from a wrecked car

They sure do, but early vs late fuel pressure regulators adjust to different pressures, therefore if you split the difference, they end up being about the same.

not to disrespect the boards sponsor but I like the five-o-motorsports offerings. New stuff and reasonable prices. I have put them in an old 3.9 rover and it really brought the engine to life with a better spray pattern. I have a set in my straight 6 merc and my long term fuel trim settled at -10%. More power and better fuel economy.
