Opinion on wheels needed on 951

Need your opinion on wheels on the 89 951. They weigh almost the same within few 10ths of lb. The boxster wheels require spacers on the fronts as you can see with the ugly steel lugnuts.

Which do you prefer either for looks or performance.

17 inch Porsche 986 Boxster wheels
986.362.124.00 7" X 55 offset front require 1/4" spacer
986.362.126.05 8.5" X 50 offset

17 inch Porsche 965 C2 Turbo wheels
965.362.124.00 7" X 55 offset
965.362.128.00 9" X 55 offset

spacers are a negative point. they add weight, and are inherently dangerous, especially when using aluminum lug nuts.

the twist wheels likely all twist the same direction, which makes left different from right when they are on the car. that bugs some people.

the wheels in the lower pic are C2 Turbo wheels, not 993 Cup.

these are 993 Cup:

side note: the 993 Cup wheels are about 2lbs lighter each than the C2 Turbo.

Thanks for the correction. Looks like you are leaning toward the C2 Turbo wheels.

Turbo twists have been put on everything, and are a bit passe IMHO. Then again, I'm probably a bit passe,... anyway - I put the Boxster S II's on my 968, with thin spacers, longer wheel studs and painted steel lug nuts.

actually, i would lean toward the lightest wheel, and one that does not need spacers. i'm more of a function over form guy.

but, i don't like the twists at all, for the above mentioned reason

I like how the c2 Turbo wheels look on 944. Much better than boxster wheels.

Twists are a plague on Porsche. . .worst factory wheels ever.

I like the 968 cab above, and also have a soft spot for those C2 wheels. They update the car without looking too modern and out of place.

interestingly, i prefer the 993 Cup on a 968, but the C2 Turbo on a 944. not sure why. i've had both. i like both. i guess that one is just personal preference. i definitely noticed the difference in performance and braking though with the lighter wheels.

since I had these Kinesis off my previous track car.

also picked up a set of C2 Turbo wheels for street tires.

PS. windshield banner now says LINDSEY RACING since I stuffed so much of their stuff into the engine upgrades.

I like the look of the twists but cannot stand the fact that they go opposite directions on either side ofthecar.

If the wheel companies could make a proper set'all pointing the same way' I'd buy them.

Id go with the c2 wheels

Cup 1's fit the car well and complement the design of the 944. I like Fikse wheels too.

I'm trying to figure out how you guys can look at both side of a car at the same time. Are you giant alien slugs with eyes on long appendages that can spread far enough to see both sides at the same time???? If so, can I have a ride in your space ship????

Since I can only see one side at a time and each side looks good, I don't care that they are not twisted differently on each side.

To the OP, does your car always ride that high?

I'm not a fan of 993 twists but I love 996 twists.

Original finish on an 86 951

Pewter Gray powder coat on a 90 Cab

The other side just to irritate Rasta.
