944 ´84 dumping all water by the little hose on the top cap of the reservoir

Hello,
the engine of my porsche 944 ´84 seems to be working good ,but when it warms up and the radiator comes in , it starts to dump lots of water from the hose on the top of the reservoir , is this a stuck thermostat? or is this something else?
Any help would be apreciated

the cap depends on the spring to resist pressure, and the seal to hold it. you may or may not resolve the issue with the seal alone.

Before you assume the worst, lift the front end and look for fluid running down any hoses. Also (just a friendly suggestion) replace the thermostat instead of ham-an-eggin' it. Because they are a low cost item, I replace the thermostat whenever it starts to look ratty.
Good luck!

the cap is easy to solve ,but now i have another problem, water is leaking between the water pump/thermosthat housing and the block.. right in the junction.. and to get that out i think i need to remove the belts housing first :/
can i fix this with some anti leaking or sealant fluid?

I'm curious too.

Too remove the water pump is a job. The belts come off along with a host of other parts. check Clark's Garage Home Page for a play by play.

As for the quick fix stuff. That stuff is nasty. I've seen a head with the water ports gunked shut from that stuff. I'd use it in a $500 beater I was driving into the ground, but not on anything I was planning on keeping for any amount of time.

This leak is located between the water pump/thermosthat housing and the block of the engine , the leak probably leaks 1 drip per second and if i squeeze the top hose drips faster , the question is : can i solve this with an anti leak/sealant fluid ?
Any help will be appreciated
