Correct paint for phone dials?
Anyone refinish the phone dial wheels and find a rattle can color they like that's close to stock? That's my goal - find a spray can color that reproduces it. I just scored a set for $100.
I'll be hand sanding and spraying then clearcoating them in my garage. I just want them fresh, not a perfectionist. I've done a half dozen sets with the NAPA silver wheel paint for other cars and it holds up well. Laying on the clearcoat thickly is very key. Anyhow - anybody know of a stockish color? Thanks!

Wurth German Alloy Wheel Lacquer
https://www.autopia-carcare.com/wus-892181.html#.WvgqN4AvyUs This stuff is the right color, it dries fast. There is quite a bit of metal flake and I had trouble with it developing a rough finish inside the holes of the phone dials/D90s. The face of the wheels was smooth, but not the parts that catch all the brake dust. So I had to wet sand the surfaces prior to my clear coat. Enjoy |

Wyeth is the best....the host of this forum sells it as well. I used it with a 2k hardened clear and it was great!
