944 Questions

**** Sorry for the redundancy.....I thought my first post did not go through...and I don't have the authority to delete this one ****

I got a letter from my insurance company, State Farm, stating that I may be eligible for further discounts. Letter says that my 944 may have;

1. Security engraved Windows, and;

2. Alarm system.

I did check and saw that the windows are SEKURIT, but the alarm system.....As most of you know, I got my car from my mechanic and it has a salvage title, thus no wheel lock key, nor the key that goes into the side of the car by the drivers door (alarm activation key?) were available.

So, can anyone tell me what I need to do to get a key for that?

I think a Saab key will fit.

???? Saab key? I'm not sure I understand?? Certainly you're not saying to go a Junkyard and get a Saab key, eh?? Is this something that is set, then if someone tries to use the car it is disabled??

Enlighten me, please....I'm quite ignorant with how this alarm system works, being this is my first porsche

buy a saab key, take it to the lock smith, he should be able to make it worth, I'm not a 100% sure about the saab key, but porsche doesn't make them anymore.

sorry, for the factory alarm, the one on the side of the car behind drivers door, you turn that and it turns on the alarm. When you open up the door the alarm went off so I never tried to start it because the horn kept on honking.
