Heads Up - Potential Fires for Early Cars
The Wittrin brand Air Conditioning System Relay sold on this site
924S/944 (1983-01/85) Part Number 944-615-113-022-M504 ...melts at terminal 30 and might catch fire.

May not be a relay problem, check the current draw, if the compressor clutch or fans are on their way out they will draw too muchcurrent which will over heat the relay

Checked all of that. Fans are brand new.
Replaced it with my spare Stribel and the problem went away.

Good to know either way. The headlight switch is also prone to melting and causing a fire through faulty grounding and contacts in the headlight circuit. I'll give my a/c relay a check for good measure!
